Human Efficency

From a friend -

I was running through a calculation last night using a handy Lisp program and discovered that if you're on a 2000 kilocalorie per day diet, you've used up the equivalant energy of 25.4 gallons of gasoline within one year. A University of California at Berkeley surveyed the nation's walking habits and found that people in the United States walk an average of 75 miles per year. This means that the average American gets around 2.95 miles per gallon.
